What I Watched - "I Love You Man"

screencaps
Why is every movie about a couple assholes bonding (non-sexually) these days considered a masterpiece? From Superbad to Funny People Judd Apatow has given us hours upon tedious hours of moderately enjoyable stories that ramble incoherently like Grandma recounting how she met Grandpa and doze off right before the end the same way. I Love You Man follows this genre but doesn't even hit the high points that others of the same ilk have coasted upon. While there are a few funny moments one of the main characters is so unlikeable that I found it impossible to root for his budding bromance. Refusing to clean up after his dog, constantly releasing rage and lies on innocent strangers, and ultimately interrupting a wedding for his selfish apology all made me despise Jason Segal's character so much that I expected a comeuppance which never came. Unfortunately I cannot reward such bad behavior with a recommendation.
