What I'll Watch - "FlashForward"

While I have never been a superfan of these large budget, high-concept mystery, sci-fi shows which offer more questions than answers, I am intrigued and excited about ABC's new Fall drama Flash Forward for several reason. First and foremost the highly talented and highly under-used Joseph Fiennes is finally starring on a series where I can see him regularly. A big change from him only appearing as my computer's wallpaper for several years. Additionally John Cho, Sulu from the recent Star Trek reboot and Seth McFarland of Family Guy fame are featured in the cast so the series will not be lacking for eye candy or implied sexual tension. Also the show's premise is intriguing but not so open ended that it can drag on for years, *cough* "Lost" *cough*. While everyone in the world has passed out for a short period of time they experience a glimpse of their lives 6 months in the future. The writers of the show easily could have changed the image to 6 years in the future but have chosen to stick with the 6 month idea guaranteeing that, should the show last beyond the cancel-happy hands of ABC executives, the series will have to change up it's game and add new layers to the mystery when 6 months comes and goes.

Overall the series does not appear to be my usual cup of tea but an intriguing premise combined with a talented and good-looking cast all seem to spell H-I-T in my mind. I I will definitely be tuning in for the series premiere Thursday, September 24th at 8/7c. Hope to see you there.
